Video – Self Massage and Stretching for Forearm Pain

Today’s video addressed the problem that so many people face every day.  Forearm pain can present itself in various ways due to working at desks and computers.  Forearm pain sometimes leads to more serious problems such as Pronator Teres Syndrome or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

When we sit at our desks, ride bicycles, run or swim we bring the forearms into pronation for an extended period of time.  This can lead to the musculature in the forearm flexors to become tight which can potentially lead to nerve compression issues.  The median nerve can become affected by the tight forearm flexors creating a dull, aching pain or sometimes more of a “nervy” pain that is felt in the fingers.

Incorporating the simple techniques shown below will help to keep the forearm flexors open and not as tight and is a good tool for prevention of median nerve issues in the forearm and hand.  If you feel that you have a serious medical condition you should always consult with your doctor for a proper diagnosis.

  1. Matt – that is fantastic – I can actually make my fingers tingle all by myself now!

The test will be “if i do this everyday will Matt be able to see a difference at my next monthly appointment?”

    Thanks, Sherry
