I love October! But with it comes cooler weather which means a little more preparation is in order before heading outside to run, ride or practice the cyclo-cross skills. Our hamstrings are particularly susceptible to potential injury. One of the reasons is that we put them into a compromised, shortened position for many hours a day. Any time that is spent in a sitting position adaptively shortens the hamstrings. So for anybody sitting at a desk or commuting in a car it is a good idea to warm up the hamstrings before jumping into a workout right after work.
The technique below only takes a few minutes. If you are a cyclist or cyclo-cross rider then I would apply embrocation deeply to the muscles after performing the technique. If you get any glide it compromises the purpose of releasing restrictions or adhesions. For cyclo-cross riders you always want to prevent any potential injury. This is the case especially with dismounting and running portions. So this should help you in injury prevention. Enjoy the video and comment below with any questions you have about the technique!
